COTA, a healthcare company specializing in oncology real-world data and analytics, needed a more developer-friendly alternative to off-the-shelf BI tools like Qlik and Tableau. As its data products grew in complexity across millions of patient records and 150+ tables, the team wanted a semantic layer that could serve as a single source of truth while simplifying custom querying, data munging, and analytics development.

Cube Dev provided the Cube semantic layer and Cube API as the foundation for COTA’s data products, with support for pre-aggregations, dynamic schema generation, and advanced boolean logic to improve performance and simplify complex queries. The implementation helped COTA accelerate development and deliver its RWA product MVP in about 6–8 months, while also improving query speed and enabling better cancellation of concurrent requests for a smoother user experience.
