TEP S.p.A., a public transport provider in Italy, faced challenges in managing backups for over 100 virtual machines while needing to ensure disaster recovery, ransomware protection, and compliance with GDPR. By implementing Cubbit's object storage, TEP gained a secure, compliant backup solution with geographic proximity for better performance. The solution provided key benefits including immutability of backups, versioning, and protection from ransomware. This allowed TEP to fulfill its GDPR obligations through Cubbit's levels of replication, chunking, and encryption of individual files, ensuring data could not be accessed in plain text.
