Santander Chooses CTERA to Combine File Sync, Collaboration and Backup Services with Complete Data Security and Control

Santander Group, a global bank serving over 100 million customers with 190,000 employees, needed a secure, enterprise-grade alternative to consumer cloud file-sync services that would provide fast, anywhere file access and collaboration while meeting strict IT requirements. The bank required an on-premises, object-storage–based EFSS that was hardware-agnostic, highly auditable, optimized for bandwidth and storage efficiency, and capable of providing endpoint backup for tens of thousands of laptops and desktops.

After a security audit Santander selected CTERA’s Enterprise File Services Platform and deployed it privately in its datacenters, integrating with Santander’s object storage and Active Directory. The white-labeled solution delivers file sync, sharing, team collaboration and de-duplicated, encrypted endpoint backup to about 60,000 users across Spain and Latin America, lowering TCO and infrastructure sprawl while increasing user productivity, security, IT control and plans for further global rollout.
