Leading Sports Media Company Deploys CTERA on AWS to Enable Branch Office File Services and Collaboration

Learfield Communications’ Learfield Sports unit, a leading collegiate sports media company with about 1,000 employees and 125 branch offices, needed fast, secure file access for heavily traveling staff and simpler centralized management for a growing distributed network. Existing sync-and-share tools fell short of delivering consistent anywhere/anytime access, streamlined NAS and user administration, and easy scalability as the business expanded.

Learfield deployed the CTERA Enterprise File Services Platform in its AWS VPC, installing cloud storage gateway appliances in 125 offices and issuing EFSS licenses to 800 users. The solution provides local office file servers, server backup, encrypted deduplicated snapshots to AWS S3, centralized management and AD/SSO integration—delivering reliable remote access, reduced IT overhead and TCO, and a single scalable platform for storage, protection and collaboration.
