Field Technicians Dramatically Improve Productivity with “Storebox”- Secure Cloud-Based Mobile File Collaboration

Cablex AG, a Swiss ICT and network infrastructure firm with about 1,000 employees and 19 service locations, faced inefficiencies in its 350-person field operations team: technicians received multiple paper or server-based dossiers per job, made time-consuming trips between dispatch centers and sites, and needed a scalable way to share information with external contractors across the workforce.

Cablex deployed Swisscom IT Services’ Storebox, managed with CTERA Portal in Swisscom’s private datacenters, enabling 250 technicians and 100 support staff to create shared folders, view and sync files on iPads, and use source-based encryption with customer-controlled keys. The cloud solution eliminated server limits, cut technician driving by more than 1 million km annually, and significantly improved on-site time and productivity.
