A CSDC Inc Case Study
The City of Toronto’s Public Health Department, responsible for regulating approximately 18,000 food establishments, faced intense scrutiny after prominent media coverage raised questions about the effectiveness and transparency of its inspection process. Seeking a more efficient, transparent system, the City of Toronto engaged CSDC Inc and its AMANDA solution to reinvent how inspections were managed and published.
CSDC Inc implemented AMANDA to power the DineSafe public website—making Toronto the second city in North America to post inspection results online—and consolidated inspection data across programs. The system simplified scheduling and mobile inspections, standardized records across inspectors, automated complaint investigations, and supported prosecutions; AMANDA was later extended to day nurseries, smoking bylaw enforcement, vaccine cold chain checks, pools, barber shops, and tattoo parlors, improving workflow efficiency, transparency, and public access to inspection results.
