Snohomish County, Washington’s Planning and Development Services faced logistical and security challenges: mountainous terrain made remote wireless unreliable, existing technology was unencrypted, and the department struggled to maintain anonymity for complaint reporting. To address these problems the county implemented AMANDA, CSDC Inc’s business automation system.

Using AMANDA from CSDC Inc, the county centralized all project information for location-independent access, encrypted sensitive data, and enabled anonymous complaint submission with restricted viewing for code enforcement officers, supervisors, and managers. The system reduced administrative work—freeing clerks from typing to other tasks—simplified permit payment tracking via the AMANDA cashier module, improved citizen updates and service capacity, and set the stage for future online permitting and timekeeping to measure permit-level job costs.
