Clean Water Services, the wastewater and stormwater utility serving Washington County, Oregon (and parts of Clackamas and Multnomah counties), needed to replace an aging, hand‑programmed permitting system that could no longer meet the Development team’s unique permitting, plan‑review and inspection needs. To modernize operations they selected CSDC Inc’s enterprise solution powered by AMANDA.

CSDC Inc configured AMANDA to track workflows, submitted plans, permits, inspections and capital project status end‑to‑end, enabling both Development Services and the Capital department to follow work from intake to completion. The implementation improved transparency via a more user‑friendly public website and stronger project tracking for a utility that serves 500,000 customers across 12 cities, manages 800 miles of sanitary sewers and treats about 64 million gallons of wastewater per day; Clean Water Services is now also evaluating remote access and web permitting to extend those gains.
