The City of London’s Planning & Development Department was struggling with a legacy mainframe database that could no longer handle growing volumes of planning and building information and offered limited technical support. To address this, the City selected CSDC Inc and its AMANDA enterprise platform (implemented in 1999) to replace the aging system and consolidate planning, building and environmental records.

CSDC Inc implemented AMANDA as a centralized hub—integrated with Maps/GIS and converted archival data—to process building permits, site plans, zoning and call‑center activity, while enabling e‑service access for residents. The solution gave staff end‑to‑end application tracking, improved interdepartmental communication and reporting, and provided 24/7 online public access to planning and building information, significantly improving efficiency and accountability.
