Norfisk - Customer Case Study

Norfisk, the German arm of Polish smoker Suempol, consolidated sales and logistics in Wismar to handle roughly 40,000 pallets a year of fresh and frozen salmon. Facing strict LMIV traceability requirements, growing product variety and high risks of pick- and MHD-errors and excess buffer inventory, Norfisk engaged CSB-System to provide industry-specific IT and mobile/scanner applications to digitize and speed up material and data flows.

CSB-System implemented end-to-end software (warehouse management, mobile picking/scanners, lot traceability and retailer/carrier interfaces) that electronically maps receipts, picking, labeling and invoicing. The result: pick errors have fallen to nearly zero, buffer stock dropped from 30–40% to 5%, 90% of inventory is now just-in-time with production lag under 24 hours, and Norfisk reliably processes ~40,000 pallets annually while meeting traceability and quality requirements — all enabled by CSB-System.
