A Cryoserver Case Study
Ultra Electronics Precision Air and Land Systems, a supplier of aerospace and electronic equipment, faced strict regulatory retention rules and growing mailbox sizes that made email management slow and risky. After an incident where restoring a departed user’s mailbox proved extremely time-consuming—and with Exchange upgrades taking weeks—the company needed a reliable, searchable archive to cut storage costs, meet retention requirements, and speed access to historical email.
In March 2016 Ultra deployed Cryoserver, which journals mail directly from the mail flow and stores it economically in a central archive. By removing items older than five years from primary mailboxes they reduced migration time from three weeks to five days, enabled granular searches that turn all-day tasks into minutes, lowered hardware costs and ongoing administration, and improved user access and IT responsiveness.
