Beasley Broadcast Group (BBGI), a U.S. radio broadcaster with 53 stations and more than 7 million listeners, wanted to keep audiences engaged beyond the airwaves with fresh online content. Its digital team faced a challenge in consistently producing timely updates and breaking news with a limited staff, especially during fast-moving events.
BBGI partnered with Crowdynews, using its social media curation platform to embed safe, relevant, real-time social content on station websites. During the San Bernardino shooting, Crowdynews enabled BBGI to quickly aggregate and publish updates from social media, delivering news 20–30 minutes ahead of mainstream news sites and turning the social feed into the day’s news source.
