The Pokémon Company International - Customer Case Study

Pokémon Company International, which manages the global Pokémon brand and licensing for hundreds of millions of fans, expanded its online business after the success of Pokémon GO. With a customer‑facing platform primarily on AWS, CISO John Visneski faced a challenge of maintaining availability, security and trust while rapidly scaling infrastructure—plus limited visibility into EC2 instances and the need for analysts to work seamlessly across on‑prem and cloud environments.

Pokémon adopted the CrowdStrike Falcon platform, including Falcon Discover for AWS, to inventory EC2 instances, identify gaps where the agent wasn’t installed, and provide unified visibility across cloud and on‑prem systems. The integration improved DevOps hygiene, accelerated detection and response when instances spin up or down, and gave analysts a near “single pane of glass” for investigations—delivering faster security operations, better scalability support, and a collaborative vendor relationship Pokémon values.
