A CrowdStrike Case Study
SA Power Networks, South Australia’s sole electricity distributor serving nearly a million customers, faced a rapidly evolving threat landscape, broad geographic coverage with many remote users, tighter critical‑infrastructure regulations and a global cybersecurity skills shortage that strained its small in‑house team. The organisation needed stronger, more efficient protections and faster incident response without the cost and difficulty of recruiting large numbers of senior specialists.
SA Power Networks expanded its deployment of CrowdStrike Falcon from EDR to Falcon Complete, a fully managed detection-and-response service (including threat hunting, incident response and identity protection) across ~3,000 endpoints. The managed service reduced endpoint resource use, enabled more devices in the field, cut the need for 24x7 internal staffing, improved response times, prevented incidents on protected devices and allowed the utility to hire and train junior analysts—boosting resilience and lowering overall costs.
