A CrowdStrike Case Study
SpareBank 1, a group of 13 savings banks in Norway, faced rapidly growing log volumes that its legacy log management platform couldn't handle affordably. Because logs power the bank’s security, DevOps and customer support, discarding data was not an option, and the bank needed a modern, on‑premises solution that could scale without runaway infrastructure and licensing costs.
After a proof of concept on physical servers, SpareBank 1 chose CrowdStrike Falcon LogScale, which delivered a 10x compression rate (5x better than the previous tool) and a cheaper licensing model. The switch saved the bank millions—$2–3M every three years in infrastructure and $1–2M annually in licensing—allowed ingestion of 10x the logs, supports 1,000+ users and ~2,500 concurrent searches, and sped up investigations for anti‑fraud, development and support teams, effectively future‑proofing the business.
