Globe Telecom Reduces Risk and Gains Immediate Visibility with New Threatbased Operational Security Approach

Globe Telecom, the Philippines’ leading telecommunications provider serving roughly 80 million customers, moved from a traditional risk- and compliance-focused security posture to a threat-based operational model to address rising ransomware and sophisticated adversaries. The company faced a talent gap, a need for full visibility across its infrastructure, and the challenge of protecting both internal systems and customer services while building a security operations center and expanding its IT organization.

To meet those needs Globe selected CrowdStrike in 2016 and rapidly deployed the Falcon platform (phase one in a day, full deployment far faster than their previous solution) and engaged Falcon OverWatch for managed threat hunting. The rollout gave immediate visibility across 17,400 endpoints, enabled prioritization with CrowdScore, delivered quick, non-disruptive protection for customers, and provided a trusted extension of Globe’s SOC—improving incident response, executive reporting, and overall cyber maturity.
