A CrowdStrike Case Study
Coventry University, a UK-based institution with campuses and international programs serving tens of thousands of students and staff, faced a volatile, highly distributed IT environment — BYOD devices, 600 applications, and 600 servers across cloud and on-premises systems — that left it a frequent target for attackers. The security team was forced into a reactive posture, taking days to detect incidents and reimaging roughly 18–20 machines a week, creating a heavy operational burden.
The university deployed the CrowdStrike Falcon platform (including Falcon Complete MDR, EDR, device control, threat hunting, vulnerability management and more), consolidating vendors and integrating with cloud and firewall controls. As a result, incident resolution time fell from 2–3 days to under an hour (longest 44 minutes), time spent on threat remediation dropped ~94% (from >80 hours to under five), machines needing reimaging fell to zero, and security incidents measured over six months went from hundreds to none.
