Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, S.A. Finances LATAM Trade While Improving Ease of Compliance, Advanced Threat Awareness and Endpoint Protection

Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior (Bladex) is a Panama‑based multinational development bank supporting Latin American trade with offices across the region. Facing increasingly advanced cyber threats (notably ransomware), strict regulatory and privacy requirements, and the operational strain of remote work, Bladex struggled with a complex on‑premises security stack that required six servers, extensive maintenance, and made endpoint data hard to obtain.

Bladex deployed the cloud‑native CrowdStrike Falcon platform across 350 laptops/servers and 100 mobile devices, consolidating multiple legacy tools into a single, easy‑to‑manage console with integrated EDR, antivirus, threat intelligence, hunting, vulnerability management and device control. The result: about 50% lower security infrastructure costs, monthly help‑desk tickets related to security dropped from 25 to 0, faster project delivery by freeing IT staff, improved regulatory compliance through richer endpoint visibility, and simplified, centralized security operations.
