Indiana-based Mainstreet, a developer of Next Generation® Medical Resorts, needed flexible capital to fund Mainstreet Bloomington, a 100-suite short-stay transitional care and assisted living facility. To broaden its investor pool under the JOBS Act and test real estate crowdfunding for the first time, Mainstreet engaged CrowdStreet’s real estate crowdfunding platform.

CrowdStreet ran the offering and helped Mainstreet raise $1.6 million in mezzanine capital—exceeding the $1.5 million goal—with the deal fully committed in about three weeks and closed in roughly four. The campaign attracted investors from multiple states, boosted Mainstreet’s brand awareness, and demonstrated crowdfunding as a fast, efficient financing channel; Mainstreet plans to use CrowdStreet again for future projects.
