How Visit Savannah Used Polls In Instagram Stories To Create An Audience-Directed Tourism Video

Visit Savannah, the destination marketing organization for Savannah, Georgia, wanted to better engage followers and turn social interactions into multi‑platform marketing assets. Working with CrowdRiff and its visual user‑generated content platform — which Visit Savannah had used to license nearly 5,000 photos and videos and embed UGC galleries across their site — the team looked for a creative way to let their audience help shape content using Instagram Stories.

They ran a series of Instagram Story polls to let followers pick a "Perfect Day in Savannah," produced an audience‑directed video with their production partner, and used CrowdRiff to manage UGC rights and galleries for repurposing. The polls drew up to ~900 votes and 2,600+ views on a single Story, and the final video delivered strong cross‑channel results: ~64,000 Facebook views (372 shares, 761 reactions, 175 comments), 10,000+ Instagram views, ~17,000 YouTube views (avg. view 1:40), plus widespread reuse across the website and newsletter.
