How Using Ugc On Location Helps Tupelo Show Visitors It’s More Than Just Elvis’s Hometown

Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau, long known as Elvis Presley’s birthplace, needed to show visitors that the city offers a broader range of attractions and to increase overnight/weekend stays. To do this they partnered with CrowdRiff and adopted a user-generated content (UGC) strategy to bring authentic visitor photos into their marketing mix and physical touchpoints.

Using CrowdRiff’s UGC platform, Tupelo CVB curated high-quality, people-focused images and replaced static photos with UGC across A-frame boards, an interactive digital gallery in the visitor center, social channels and web pages. The campaign drove a measurable uptick in hashtag usage and more photos from locations with A-frame signs, plus increased traffic and sessions on non-Elvis landing pages—helping visitors discover more of Tupelo and encouraging longer stays.
