Transforming Camps Airy and Louise’s International Staff Payments

Camps Airy and Louise, a summer camp, faced a time-consuming and cumbersome challenge in paying their international staff. The camp, which employs 150 international counselors each summer, previously had to create temporary Social Security Numbers and bank accounts for each individual. This process was tedious for the camp's operations team and stressful for the counselors, often leading to complications and fees. The camp partnered with Crowded to find a better solution using their Per Diem Accounts and payment processing services.

Using Crowded, the camp created individual Per Diem accounts for each counselor to receive their paychecks digitally. This eliminated the need for in-person bank visits, temporary SSNs, and manual account closures. The solution saved the camp an estimated two weeks of administrative work per year and significantly reduced stress for both staff and counselors. Crowded also incorporated the camp's feedback to develop a new in-app international transfer product, further enhancing the service.
