Witt Energy, the renewable energy technology company behind the patented WITT motion-harvesting device, needed to raise £750,000 to manufacture its first products for sale. It turned to Crowdcube’s equity crowdfunding platform to help fund the next stage of its mission and bring the product to market.

Crowdcube supported Witt Energy’s crowdfunding campaign, which was backed by a strong video, detailed due diligence, and ongoing marketing activity. The raise proved highly successful, reaching £2.39m from 1,567 investors and exceeding the original target by 318%, giving Witt Energy the funds to build prototypes, invest in a robotic arm, and continue developing its subsea energy-harvesting technology.
