Small Robot Company is an agri-tech startup on a mission to replace big tractors with small, precise robots that help farmers save money and reduce the environmental impact of farming. Looking to supercharge growth and raise funding for its robot-and-AI platform, the company turned to Crowdcube after finding that its farmer community understood the vision better than traditional VCs did.

Using Crowdcube’s equity crowdfunding platform, Small Robot Company launched a campaign that combined storytelling, community outreach, and testimonials from high-profile supporters. The raise far exceeded its £500,000 target, closing at £1,173,940 from 1,159 investors, or 234% funded, and the capital helped the team hire key staff, secure workspace, and invest in equipment to accelerate product delivery.
