Monzo, the UK fintech bank, was looking to raise capital while turning its growing customer base into deeper brand advocates. To do this, the company worked with Crowdcube and used its equity crowdfunding platform to give customers the opportunity to invest and own a share of the business.
Through two funding rounds on Crowdcube, Monzo raised over £4.2 million. The campaign helped the company engage its community while supporting rapid growth, reaching 1 million customers, a team of over 300, and a $1 billion valuation, with 15% of new UK bank accounts now opened with Monzo.
