The Culinary Institute of America - Customer Case Study

The Culinary Institute of America wanted to create a true mobile conference experience for its Worlds of Flavor® International Conference and Festival, giving attendees access to schedules, maps, profiles, recipes, and other key information from their phones. The institute partnered with CrowdCompass by Cvent to build an event app that would reflect the conference theme of connected kitchens while avoiding the overload of a printed program.

CrowdCompass delivered a feature-rich mobile app with interactive maps, attendee lists, presenter and sponsor profiles, schedule details, and culinary demo recipes. The results were strong: app downloads reached 140% across multiple devices, 89% of users created a CrowdCompass account, and sponsor banner ads generated more than 77,000 views. The app also more than covered its costs through sponsor advertising and was praised by CIA leadership for creating a more engaging, technologically enhanced attendee experience.
