The American Public Power Association (APPA) wanted to expand beyond its first event app and improve the onsite experience for staff and attendees at its conferences. As APPA’s membership base was older, the association was initially unsure whether a mobile app would be used, and it also needed a more flexible solution than its first free app effort.
CrowdCompass provided APPA with a multi-event event app platform that gave staff more control, self-service content updates, and customizable conference branding. With CrowdCompass, APPA cut printing costs, eliminated a second printed program, and began moving toward no paper at all; the app also saved at least 2.5 hours on contest vote tabulation and reduced App Store approval delays, while sponsors covered the app cost for annual events.
