Handling Conference Abstracts With Ease

The International Society for Animal Genetics Conference needed a way to give attendees access to more than 1,000 abstracts in one place for its 36th conference in Dublin in July 2017. Previously, the conference had printed each abstract in a paper brochure, and the organizers wanted a clearer, easier way to share the material. Crowdcomms provided the event app used to manage and display the abstracts.

Crowdcomms built a branded event app that housed every abstract, with support for abstract management, data curation, liaison with the society organizer, and uploading content. The digital format let organizers add or amend information right up to the start of the conference and reduced print costs, while avoiding the need for a separate abstract management system. Post-event analytics showed 1,700 unique visitors, 100k page views, and over 15k views of the abstracts.
