Farnborough International Airshow, a major biennial event with more than 150,000 visitors across a 100,000m² site, needed a better way to guide both trade and public attendees, improve discovery across the venue, and understand crowd movement more clearly. The show also faced challenges around travel to and from the site and the complexity of a redesigned layout, making real-time communication and footfall tracking important priorities. Crowd Connected’s location tracking technology was selected as part of a new mobile app to help address these needs.

Crowd Connected’s Colocator code was embedded into the Airshow’s iOS and Android app, enabling real-time heatmaps, custom dashboards, regional footfall analytics, and targeted push notifications without additional hardware. The solution extended beyond the event grounds to monitor arrival and departure routes, including roads and rail connections, while helping the team send timely, location-based messages that drove footfall and improved visitor experience.
