Case Study: Togo’s improves POS security and accountability with Crossmatch biometrics

A Crossmatch Case Study

Preview of the Togo’s Case Study

Togo’s - Customer Case Study

Togo’s, a fast casual sandwich shop with more than 250 franchisee locations on the West Coast, was using passwords to access POS terminals, but management could not reliably track who accessed each cash drawer. Because passwords and swipe cards can be shared, Togo’s wanted a more secure way to control POS access and reduce the risk of fraud and theft. The company turned to Crossmatch and its U.are.U fingerprint readers.

Crossmatch provided a biometrics-based solution that tied POS logins, time and attendance, and manager overrides to individual employees through fingerprint authentication. Togo’s says the system helped it move to single-drawer accountability, improved oversight, reduced the potential for fraud, and made it easier to balance drawers at the end of a shift. The solution also prevented employees from clocking in for each other, and Togo’s said future sandwich shops and POS upgrades will include biometrics.
