Case Study: Tar Heel Capital reduces fraud and IT costs with Crossmatch fingerprint readers

A Crossmatch Case Study

Preview of the Tar Heel Capital Case Study

Tar Heel Capital - Customer Case Study

Tar Heel Capital, a Wendy’s franchisee based in Boone, North Carolina, operates more than 73 locations and employs more than 2,800 people across North and South Carolina. The company needed to reduce cash register shrink, payroll fraud, and the IT burden caused by lost or forgotten swipe cards. It turned to Crossmatch for fingerprint biometrics, using U.are.U fingerprint readers with WAND™ Point-of-Sale software.

With Crossmatch’s fingerprint readers, managers authorize voids by touching a finger to the reader, and employees can no longer clock in for one another. Tar Heel Capital said the solution improved accountability at the register and for time and attendance, eliminated the cost of replacing swipe cards, and led to an immediate drop in food costs as a percentage of overall sales. The company also reported recapturing lost margins and decreasing IT costs.
