New Look - Customer Case Study

New Look, the global fashion retailer, wanted a better way to confirm employee identity for time and attendance in its China stores. Using six-digit passwords at shared POS terminals created an opportunity for employees to clock in for each other, and password resets were taking up IT staff time. The company also wanted to reduce the risk of payroll fraud while improving security.

New Look installed POS systems enabled with Crossmatch fingerprint technology in six stores in China, replacing passwords with fingerprints for clock-ins and POS access. Store managers and deputy managers also had to use fingerprints to approve returns, discounts, and overrides. New Look said the change improved time and attendance tracking, reduced password reset requests, helped keep loss prevention below one percent, and made customer checkout more efficient.
