Case Study: Finanz Informatik improves strong authentication with Crossmatch DigitalPersona

A Crossmatch Case Study

Preview of the Finanz Informatik Case Study

Finanz Informatik - Customer Case Study

Finanz Informatik, the IT service provider for the German Savings Banks Finance Group, needed a stronger authentication approach for savings banks as auditing agencies increasingly required strong authentication for sensitive data and IT systems. In 2009, the company began evaluating options for improving security for Single Sign-On and Windows logon, including smart cards and biometrics.

Finanz Informatik selected Crossmatch DigitalPersona, including U.are.U 4500 fingerprint readers, and supported rollout through MTRIX. Sparkasse Wolfach, one of the banks using the solution, implemented it in 2011 and completed rollout in August 2012; all employees were then using the system. The new setup secures Windows logon with both password and fingerprint, and the bank reported very good employee acceptance.
