Crossmatch Solution Secures Access to Military Bases

The United States Defense Community needed a faster, more intuitive way to verify identity at military base checkpoints. Its existing system struggled with slow results, poor biometrics capture, and long queues, limiting adoption across bases worldwide. Crossmatch was brought in to help with a new biometric mobile identification device and custom base access application.

Crossmatch worked with the customer’s development team to build an Android application for the Verifier Sentry Compact Biometric and Credential Reader, along with a handgrip add-on for easier use. The solution was tested with three days’ worth of base access traffic and was quickly adopted after a pilot at another branch, with the customer also citing improved workflow and fingerprint matching for high-threat periods.
