City of Winter Park - Customer Case Study

The City of Winter Park, a Florida law enforcement and municipal employer of 550 people serving more than 28,000 residents, needed strong two-factor authentication to meet the CJIS mandate. The city also needed a solution that could integrate with existing infrastructure, including Microsoft Active Directory Services, Naviline, green screen AS/400 applications, and notebooks with built-in fingerprint readers. Crossmatch DigitalPersona Pro was selected to address those requirements.

Crossmatch deployed DigitalPersona Pro to provide biometric and other advanced authentication methods that support CJIS compliance without slowing down police, fire, or other city staff. The solution integrated with Active Directory and the city’s NAC and communication encryption policies, helping secure access to networks and applications in city hall, central facilities, police cars, and fire trucks. The city said it is now compliant with the CJIS two-factor authentication mandate and that security of communication on its network has significantly increased.
