A CrossKnowledge Case Study
Solvay, the Belgian multinational in advanced materials and specialty chemicals, faced low digital learning adoption and an outdated learning ecosystem: an SAP-based LMS with limited features and an obsolete content platform that earned only 5% learner satisfaction. Tasked with raising digital learning from 5% to 20% by 2020, Solvay selected CrossKnowledge to provide a modern, multilingual Learning Suite focused on improved UX, blended learning and an easily searchable, customizable content catalog.
CrossKnowledge deployed its Learning Suite (including Blendedx capabilities), integrated external and in-house content, and ran targeted rollouts and promotion (e.g., “Learning of the Month” and COOCs). The results were rapid and measurable: active learners grew +200% in six months (1,000 to 3,000) and reached 10,000 by mid‑2018; learner satisfaction rose from 5% to 70%; 73% preferred the new platform, 30% were repeat users, and 70% of learning hours used CrossKnowledge content. CrossKnowledge’s ongoing partnership helped embed a lasting digital learning culture at Solvay.
