Mirka, a global leader in surface finishing technology, faced challenges with its inefficient, manual palletizing process at its Finnish plant. Relying on worker estimations for pallet weight and height led to mislabeled shipments and slow operations. They sought a partner to digitalize this process and integrate real-time data from IoT sensors and RFID tags with their existing ERP and PLC systems. Crosser implemented its low-code Flow Studio platform to act as a central data hub for Mirka’s palletizing operation. The solution collected data from sensors, transformed it, and integrated it seamlessly with Mirka’s Microsoft Azure IoT Hub and ERP system in real-time. This provided a full, transparent view of the palletizing process. The results included a significant boost in plant efficiency, freeing up staff for other tasks by reducing manual labor, and virtually eliminating mislabeling errors. Mirka plans to roll out the Crosser solution across all its global plants.
