Rabobank digitizes 10,000 farmers with CropIn for credit lending

The Dutch multinational banking and financial services company Rabobank sought to provide credit to smallholder farmers in Gujarat, India, but faced significant challenges. These included an absence of data on farmers and their farms, no records of financial health or credit scores, and a lack of trust between cooperatives and farmers, making tailored lending impossible. Rabobank leveraged Cropin's solutions to address these roadblocks.

Cropin implemented a digital platform that enabled Rabobank to digitize farmer and farmland records, gaining insights into crop conditions and yield estimates. The solution provided critical data on the financial health of farmers and cooperatives and established a two-way communication system to deliver timely agricultural advisories. This approach enabled tailored credit lending, improved farmer productivity and incomes, and ultimately impacted 10,000 farmers growing crops like mango, cashew, and vegetables.
