Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives (CInI), an associate organization of Tata Trusts, faced significant challenges in its 'Lakhpati Kisan' initiative aimed at transforming tribal households. Manual data collection, a lack of digital farmer records, no visibility into field staff activities, and difficulty monitoring agrochemical usage were primary roadblocks to improving livelihoods. To overcome these, CInI partnered with vendor Cropin and leveraged its Cropin Grow (SmartFarm) solution.

Cropin implemented a centralized digital system that geotagged plots and digitized farmer profiles. The solution provided farmers with advisories on climate-smart practices and enabled monitoring of input usage and field staff activities. It also offered yield estimates and post-harvest management assistance. The measurable impact was substantial: Cropin helped onboard nearly 24,000 farmers, with 31% reporting increased crop production, 38% reporting increased income, and 84% reporting an improved quality of life.
