Automating Processes to Boost Efficiency in Cotton Production

Plexus Group, an agribusiness specializing in cotton farming and trading in Mozambique, needed to ensure sustainable practices, optimize agri-resource use, and achieve full traceability for Cotton Made in Africa (CMIA) certification. To support smallholder farmers and improve efficiency across the supply chain, they worked with CropIn and its SmartFarm product.

CropIn implemented SmartFarm to digitize operations from seed to sale, putting 40,000 farmers on a single platform and enabling more than 180 field agents to update activities and provide satellite- and weather-based crop advisory. The project digitized 30,000 hectares, improved transparency and accountability, and helped continuously track seed and chemical distribution while supporting farmers through weather risks, pests, and disease outbreaks.
