Greatwaves is a premier commercial internet service provider based in the Netherlands that needed a reliable way to keep customer networks stable and consistent across many locations. As the company grew, it faced the challenge of proactively detecting issues on routers, switches, and firewalls before customers noticed downtime, and it turned to Cronitor to help monitor the health of every device it sold.

Using Cronitor’s REST API and webhook-based alerts, Greatwaves set up a unique monitor for each device and had it ping Cronitor every 20 seconds, triggering alerts if a device stopped checking in for at least a minute. This gave Greatwaves real-time visibility without on-site servers or permanent VPNs, reduced attack surface and management overhead, and enabled automated responses that helped the team scale nationwide and handle proactive fixes with greater confidence.
