Zero-Trust Putting Alert Overload to Bed Once and For All

World’s Leading Mattress Retailer Company inherited a mattress manufacturer’s security stack — including Carbon Black licenses — but lacked the in‑house resources to deploy and operate it. The result was extreme alert overload that forced the small IT team to "cherry pick" or disable alerts, leaving the business exposed. Critical Start was engaged with its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service, leveraging its Zero‑Trust Analytics Platform (ZTAP) and Security Operations Center (SOC) to address the problem.

Critical Start integrated Carbon Black (and partners Cylance and OpenDNS), brought all endpoints under ZTAP monitoring, and managed alerts from its CYBERSOC. The outcome was a 99.9% reduction in alerts — from 550,000 security alerts to 31 incidents to 1 escalation — allowing the customer’s IT team to stop triaging false positives and focus on strategic priorities.
