The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, a large academic health center serving over 21,000 employees and 4,275 students across 33 buildings and a complex 3 million square-foot site, needed a force-multiplier for its relatively small police department to improve response to incidents and lone-worker risks. To address this challenge, the campus deployed CriticalArc’s SafeZone service beginning in 2017 to give staff and students a direct, discreet way to call for help and to provide more precise location information than traditional wireless 911.

The solution has delivered faster, more targeted responses and better coordination with Aurora PD and fire services, expanded campus-wide, and achieved measurable impact such as locating callers floor-by-floor with indoor accuracy within 10 feet and improved safety across the entire campus.
