Texas A&M University-San Antonio - Customer Case Study

Texas A&M University-San Antonio faced rapid campus expansion and 24/7 occupancy that increased demands on its police department; the university needed improved command-and-control and much better indoor location accuracy. They engaged CriticalArc and its SafeZone® solution to deliver campus-wide positioning and emergency communications.

CriticalArc implemented SafeZone with Bluetooth beacons and SafeZone Command to provide a real-time 3D view that pinpoints floor, wing and room, delivers alerts to officers at the same time as dispatch, and improves coordination with CERT volunteers—speeding response and enabling more effective incident management. The campus became the first to adopt campus-wide SafeZone indoor positioning, replacing costly fixed panic systems with a more accurate, affordable solution and adding heat maps and incident playback for patrol optimization and training.
