A CriticalArc Case Study
Teesside University, led by Claire Humble, faced the ongoing challenge of improving campus safety in a region with above‑average crime (2018 saw 20,000 incidents logged by police). Since 2017 the university pursued a proactive, preventative security strategy and introduced CriticalArc’s SafeZone to modernize and upgrade its service delivery.
CriticalArc implemented SafeZone so students and staff can request help directly from security via their phones, enabling faster, more accurate incident assessment and response. As a result, incident response times have averaged 50% faster, and the university has recorded a 19% reduction in crime across its two sites over three years, including a 35% drop in thefts.
