Auto Components Growth Drives to MES with a Future

Yazaki Saltano, the Portuguese molding division of Yazaki Group, faced growing pains as it planned to add dozens more injection molding machines and found its paper-and-Excel processes—and a prior failed MES attempt—were no longer sustainable. To achieve robust plant-floor control and reliable machine communications, Yazaki Saltano selected Critical Manufacturing and its MES after a disciplined vendor evaluation.

Critical Manufacturing implemented its MES (including SPC, ERP integration, machine connection and the FabLive display) with touch-screen operator cockpits and a systematic parallel run; the project succeeded within 11 months. The MES enabled each operator to manage eight machines, supported adding at least one new machine per month without hiring white‑collar staff, reduced recording errors, improved OEE visibility and workflow priority, allowed reports to be created in-house, and is integrated with SAP—delivering clear productivity, quality and visibility gains for Yazaki Saltano.
