Safety iPass Brings Students Back to School

San Rafael City Schools, which serves more than 7,200 students across 12 buildings in the Bay Area, needed a safe, accessible way to bring students back to in-person learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many families lacked reliable email and the district required a multilingual, multi-modal screening process, so they partnered with CrisisGo and deployed the Safety iPass screening solution.

CrisisGo implemented Safety iPass (and Safe2SpeakUp for high schools), allowing parents to complete symptom screenings via email links or an email-free online option and enabling students to self-certify on their devices. The platform sped entry, gave administrators real-time visibility into unscreened students so they could offer support, caught most COVID-19 cases at home to limit in-school spread, and helped keep more students in the classroom—prompting expansion from elementary to middle and high schools.
