Improved Emergency Communication & Response

Bemidji Area Schools, a small district in Bemidji, MN, needed to strengthen school safety after the 2005 Red Lake tragedy and found their paper-based plans and two-way radio communications insufficient. To modernize emergency communication and meet state requirements, the district turned to CrisisGo’s digital safety and crisis response platform to provide faster, centralized alerts and access to emergency plans and staff roles.

CrisisGo implemented one-touch mass notifications, desktop and smartphone apps, and digital access to emergency procedures, enabling Bemidji Area Schools to quickly alert teachers, staff, students, and stakeholders. Since adopting CrisisGo in 2015 the district has used the platform to manage multiple incidents — including a head-on bus collision, a student fight, and a bus rollover requiring air evacuation — improving response efficiency and compliance with state safety requirements.
