How Santa Barbara Unified School District streamlined their emergency alerting and communication with our school safety app

Santa Barbara Unified School District, which operates 17 schools across 20 sites, faced fragmented emergency plans and difficulty communicating quickly and universally across campuses. To standardize response and streamline alerts and accountability, the district selected CrisisGo’s emergency alerting and digital roster tools (Customer Since: 2019) to integrate rosters and enable district-wide notifications.

Using CrisisGo, the district ran a district-wide Great ShakeOut drill—sending a drop/cover/hold alert, an evacuation alert, and then using CrisisGo’s digital roster event to account for students—reaching 863 people district-wide. CrisisGo’s platform ensured administrators, safety teams, and managers were notified in real time, demonstrating measurable improvements in notification reach and coordination and setting the stage to expand standardized response with neighboring districts and first responders.
