Enhanced Safety Drill Communication and Coordination

Abilene ISD’s Bonham Elementary needed to improve how it communicated during safety drills and how it evaluated drill performance — the school had been using PA announcements, emails, the fire alarm and colored cards to signal staff status and had no objective way to review results. The district turned to CrisisGo’s safety communication platform, including its Check In tool, to provide a customizable, two-way drill solution.

CrisisGo implemented a unified mobile channel for staff, realistic but non‑alarming drill scenarios, and automated post‑drill reports. As a result, staff reported statuses far faster than before; Bonham completed three drills in one session in under 15 minutes, and was able to move about 530 students (including those with special needs) to safety and back in 12–13 minutes, with objective drill data captured for review.
